Traditions: my studies

We should not be so dogmatic or be so puffed up to ignore scriptures that when taken out of context seem to contradict what I believe. We should all rather humbly come to our Bibles and accept whatever meaning the Holy Spirit lays on our heart and I will try my best. When we learn about God, we do so line upon line, precept upon precept. That means that what you believe now may not be the same thing that you believe once you have more Bible Doctrine to base your opinion on. In the beginning when you don't know very much about God or the Bible its easy to take one little scripture at face value and form your opinion based on that one scripture-that's one of the beautiful things about the Bible- It grows with you. You can take any subject and understand the simplest concepts, but then you can spend years studying and still not know everything. And if your opinions don't change, then you either had an outstanding pastor-teacher to sit under, or you haven't spent much of your own time in the Word... you just accepted what your first preacher told you and never questioned it. Eternal security is kind of like that.

God's plan is not simple. But it can be simply stated... God wants everyone to go to heaven. That's it.

It is our responsibility and privilege as Christians to minister to these souls in prison. Not only to give them the Gospel, but to educate them on how to live a better life and make better decisions; to manage their money and their families.

     A Closer Look at tradition…

Joh 9:28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art HIS disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

Cross References

Ro 7:6 But now we are free from the law, having been made dead to that which had power over us; so that we are servants in the new way of the spirit, not in the old way of the letter.

2Co 3:6  Who has made us able to be servants of a new agreement; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter gives death, but the Spirit gives life.

oV kai ikanwsen hmaV diakonouV(servants) kainhV diaqhkhV, ou grammatoV alla pneumatoV: to gar gramma apoktennei, to de pneuma zwopoiei.

The difference between a disciple and a servant

maqhtaV -Learners     Vs. diakonouV- Servants

Compare to Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Ro 14:17-18 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men

The reason why some verses are translated with spirit, some ghost….

The KJAV was translated from the greek and Hebrew by 47 scholars working in six “committees”. They worked on parts separately-hence the word differences..

The reasons why some churches are dead, some alive?…

Tradition paradosiV.. translated at least 12 times in the new testament. Spoken of negatively in every instance.

  1. giving up, giving over
    1. the act of giving up
    2. the surrender of cities
  2. a giving over which is done by word of mouth or in writing, i.e. tradition by instruction, narrative, precept, etc.

para (preposition) didwmi... to surrender, i.e yield up, intrust, transmit:--betray, bring forth, cast, commit, deliver (up), give (over, up), hazard, put in prison, recommend.

Religion  ..translated at least 5 times in the NT, not once referring to Christianity… which is a relationship, not a religion. Religion was founded by Nimrod in Genesis 10 through the building of Babel (confusion)and exists to this day (Babylon?)

qrhskeiaV ...religious worship

    1. esp. external, that which consists of ceremonies
      1. religious discipline, religion

A Few scriptures against things that divide us…

John 17:11 [Jesus prayed] Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment

Matthew 15:9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

Romans 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

Acts 20:29-31 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch , and remember, that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

**Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptismone God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.**
